Aurelie, also well known as ... "the animal lover" (when not "the animal freak lover" ! ) wanted to do ONE thing more than anything else ... to see the baby turtles ! (oups sorry 2 things actually .... remember the elephants at the beginning of the trip ! And she actually wanted to see leopards as well ... but oh Dear ! I had to refuse !)
Anyway, I didn't want to refuse her the pleasure (I am not THAT cruel !) so we went looking for theses famous turtles hatcheries that can be found in the region.
Why hatcheries ... well because Lady Nature is cruel ... when the turtles lay their eggs in the sand of the beaches, and the baby turtles show up and start to gambol happily toward the sea ... BIM ... there is 9 out of 9 chances that they end up eaten alive by birds by way of lunch ! Sooo ... the fishermen collect the eggs and entrust them to the hatcheries , who take care of them until they grow up, and then release it to the sea ! Sweeettt !! Well, nothing goes for free, so in exchange the fisherman get some extra cash ... quiet a fair deal in my opinion !
Some picture now ... Alright, lets be honest, I was quiet gaga as well !
| Aurelie, animal lover for ever ! |
| I admit, not sure the turtle is a big fan ! |
Now ENOUGH with animals, lets do a quick stop by the Lagoon Herbal Garden located nearby ! The guide was really a nice guy, but we managed to be kinda ripped off ! We ended up, having a free massage (but of course a small contribution is most welcome !) and then buying plenty of shit-100%-herbal-miracle-potion !!
The girls bought magic slimming potion and I bought some tooth whitening powder ! TOURITSSSSS ! (anyway, a tourist that is never ripped off is NOT a tourist !) .

Well, now it is really the end , it is time to go . We decided to take a cab to the airport. It is the more expensive option but also the more convenient to catch a flight at 8am !
Ooops .. I was about to forget ... I fell in love with Sri Lankan guys for good when I took a look at that guy .... I don't know if you can see the 6 pack , but let me tell you ... I almost broke an eye on it ;-)
Hellloooooo ! (Yes, once you get to know me, you will see that the more O the better ! )
Well, bye bye Sri Lanka, that guy is like the rest of the country .... STUNNING
