I finally went to check out the prostitutes !!! Sorry , I reformulate … I finally went to check out the local temple of local prostitution ! Everyone knows Geylang has being Singapore kind of red district, similarly every one knows that building called Orchard Towers as “the 4 floors of whores” ! Charming I know !
Me, because I am a very innocent girl, until less than a year ago, I thought that OT was nothing else than the place I was sometime going for lunch ! Surprising how I can actually be innocent sometimes, I know ! And then one day I went for diner … and then one day … I went at night for drinks !
It was last Friday actually ! A close friend of mine swore he would drag me off there someday ! I was almost shocked but I actually gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking that 1. he was probably going there only extremely drunk and by mistake or 2. he has an evil twin during his nights out ! (That 2nd option probably being the correct one , as I personally know a few evil twins ! I have been reported that mine hangs around on Club Street sometimes !)
Well no, on Friday, he seems almost sober (let’s not exaggerate, not too drunk yet) and not evil at all and he managed to drag me off there ! OMG, these things I have to do not to die idiot … well I followed him !
Here I was, queuing to enter the Ipanema,between a few underdressed girls and a guys asking us the kind of girls we were interested in … Russian have ! Indonesian have !!! Thai have, no problem !! But once inside … surprise …. the club is big, the music is nice, there is a live band !! Doesn’t seems that bad after all !
Okkk, to be honest it is better to not look around too much otherwise you will soon realise that there is only young sexy Asian girls and depressingly ugly white men …. Ohh and I tried to pretend I didn't hear those 2 English-jerks-loosers-guys behind me saying “Whaooo there is a white girl here !” . Anyway once forgotten all those things, it is pretty funny actually ! I can play Girl or Guy ?!! Ohhh yes, to be fair I probably should tell you that if you plan on picking up a girl … be sure it is actually a girl ! You never know ! Insider tips … ask yourself how likely it is to meet a 1m75 Asian girl with a brand new boob job ! Yeah right … think twice !
Apparently that first club was way to soft so we went to the following one : “Crazy Horse” ! Honestly nothing interesting there … no crowd, bad music, slutty girl dancing on a lighted stage, Saturday Night Fever style …. Forget it ! Hahhaha by the way I just read an article about Orchard Tower …. the guy mentioned 2 bars : Ipanema as being quiet a cool place (agree !) and Crazy Horse using the following terms …. “Whatever you do do not go to "Crazy Horse" “ ! Oh dear … too late :-) Someone could please remind me how I ended up here ?!!! )
Ok lets be honest it is fun, we are even thinking to go back with my girl just to have a funny time together ! If your ever come to Singapore, stop by, just to say you did it ! If your mum comes to visit you …. DON’T bring her there ! And most important … DON’T trust some travel guides that recommend the massage places in OT ! Just need to check the outfit of the girls that solicit you in front of the outlet to understand what is going on there !
Unfortunate I failed on taking pics to illustrate my post for 2 reasons .. 1. I didn’t have my camera with me … and 2. I rather go out of a club by myself than between 2 bouncers !!!
Anyway …. Orchard Tower … Check !
