Eating, Drinking and Having Brunch in Bangkok

I spent a nice week end in Bangkok a while back, and I forgot to talk to you about it.

To be honest I didn't do much, so I don't have much to say. But I went to a few places to eat and drink, and I liked it all, so I am thinking I could share the address with you !

 

Brunch first. If you are looking for a brunch, absolutely NOT local , you can check Dean & Deluca, the American gourmet food outlet ! (No, it is not an oxymora !)

It is a huge and luminous restaurant, serving burgers,  cakes, waffles and mountain of pancakes ! And for the more reasonable among us (I mean, among you !) there is also a few salads !

Myself I almost died of suffocation with layers of pancakes, bananas and maple syrup. Sinful, and perfect to start a very light day !

Around THB 350 (SGD15 – EUR 8) for the pancakes and a tea.

Next : Eating. 2 restaurants, 2 completely different atmospheres, street food vs. cosy chic, but always 100% thai.

For the street food, we tried T&K Seafood, in Chinatown. Judging by the queue to get a table, and the mostly local crowed, I guess it should be good ! Indeed … for the sea food lovers, it is heaven. Fried shrimp, carb and grilled fish … there is definitely something for everyone to like, even for me who is not a big big fab of seafood ! 

For 4 person , with a few beer, we paid THB 1300 (SGD 53 – EUR 32). YEs I know, absolutely ridiculous !

Eating again , but in a cosy ambiance this time, at Erawan Tea Room, Grand Hyatt.

Ok I wont lie : the all you can eat Thai buffet, it is mistake !! I could barely get up of the over confortable sofa at the end of the dinner. What you should try if you go ever go there : best chicken satay ever, duck red curry, crispy crab/chicken , pomelo /shrimp salad etc … and some dessert : steam bread in Kaya, banana fritters  sticky rice with mango … very very light !

All you can eat buffet, but served at your table, a bit less than THB800 (SGD 19 – EUR 33). Better to book a table ahead, last order at 9:30pm.

Drink something to finish the day ! Here, lets be honest, I won’t give you a small underground address, that only , me and you will enjoy … We just went to Vertigo for a drink, one of the best and  most well know rooftop bar in BKK. The view is stunning, the atmosphere classy, but relax, and prices are very reasonable. Cocktails for THB (SGD 14 – EUR 9).

We finished the night with a table and a bottle at Bed SupperClub ! That was cool. Good Music, good atmosphere and ladies … 80% of guys ! Not bad at all.
